Birthday Week 2018
My birthday was last Wednesday. I had work and school on my actual birthday, so it was just alright, but the overall week was great. I went to dinner with good friends on the Saturday before my birthday, and then a few of us went out for drinks after dinner. It was a great night.
This past weekend, Josh and I went to Atlanta with our friends Jay and Ryland to see the Georgia Aquarium. I’ve been wanting to go to that aquarium forever, and Josh decided to take me for my birthday. The aquarium was awesome, and it was just great to get away for a night. Jay and Ryland got us a hotel room for both of our birthdays, so we spent some time exploring Atlanta. We came back Sunday afternoon. I had a lot of fun. This whole week was more than I could ever ask for, and I owe it all to Josh and the amazing people in my life. I love my friends.
At the Aquarium, I saw some sharks, whales, jellyfish, dolphins, and penguins. I loved everything, but my favorite thing I saw was probably the Beluga Whale. It was so majestic. I got so caught up in looking at it that I didn’t take a picture of it. 🙁 Oh well. The experience was amazing.
In addition to the Aquarium tickets and the hotel room, I got some pretty awesome presents this year.
My friend Jane surprised me with Yuri!!! on Ice, an anime she has been excited about for a while. I haven’t had a chance to start it yet, but I can’t wait to dive into this series. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.
My friend Raul got me some new running shoes. Like I wrote in my last entry, I’ve been running a little bit. Wearing shoes that are made for running when you run make a huge difference. They’re lighter, they breathe better, and they create better friction with the ground. I noticed a difference immediately, since the old tennis shoes I was working out in are clunky and heavy. I was pretty excited when I opened these!
My mom gave me some money to spend on myself, and so far I bought a new lamp with some of it. Check out how awesome this thing is! I spend so much time in my office for school, so it’s nice to have things around that make me smile.
Josh got me a Mario Kart birthday cake. It was a lot of fun. My friends made fun of me for the cake, and it was clearly made for kids, but it was also so me.
I had a great birthday.
